Job Description:

  • To ensure that the purchase and stores functions are efficiently run.
  • To ensure the smooth flow of the sub contracted operations
  • To ensure all Central Excise records are maintained and submitted along with periodic interaction with the excise department.
  • To select, plan, procure and follow-up on all purchased and sub contracted items required for manufactured products
  • To assist the production department in selection and evaluation of sub-contractors and suppliers
  • Maintaining good manufacturing practices, Benchmarking activities and monitoring of key indicators wherever required
  • Account for all incoming stores items, including raw material, semi finished goods and receipts from vendors and sub contractors.
  • To enter into the respective registers and bin cards, and to update on a regular basis.
  • Prepare GRNs regularly.
  • Prepare MRS as and when required.
  • To review stock levels and ensure replenishment of material as and when required.
  • To ensure documentation is updated.
  • To maintain register of consumables
  • Monthly reports of purchased and consumed items.
  • Periodic review of MRS for non delivered items.
  • Numbering of bars, and arranging cut pieces for testing, wherever required.
  • Issuing of all material and consumables to production engineering.
  • Overall responsibility of the despatch function within the norms stated.
  • To locate and source vendors and to have an effective vendor development programme in conjunction with production engineering.
  • To access the technical and financial capabilities of the sub contractor prior to fixing of all the commercial terms and conditions
  • To ensure that a successful evaluation and selection process is followed
  • Complete planning of the purchase and sub-contract function. These would include raw material, toolings, consumables, spares and other items, and sub-contracting operations.
  • To assist production engineering in working out the minimum stock level quantity and minimum order level quantity of all purchased items.
  • Purchases of all small items purchased by cash.
  • Maintain records of all purchased items as stated above with comparative prices and terms and conditions of at least three parties.
  • Monthly stock taking of material and handing over to Accounts department
  • Knowledge of Central Excise rules is must. Maintenance of all excise registers and documents, and preparing detailed reports on a monthly basis. Interaction with the range office and responsibility of attestation of all documents, wherever required. Maintaining of the visit book
  • To ensure timely payment of all central duties.
  • To ensure that all relevant documents are updated periodically.
  • To ensure, that all returns are filed before due date.
  • To ensure that all matters concerning customs, both export and import related activities are carried out. To keep abreast of all changes in rules and laws and to keep the directors informed, from time to time.
  • To handle all import and export of products.
