Job Description

 Job Responsibilities include:

  • Strongly serving and supporting the Product Owner and Development Team in their quest to do everything possible to delight both internal and external customers
  • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
  • Ensures the Agile/Scrum process is implemented effectively and provides coaching and training at the team, department, and company levels to maximize its benefits
  • Responsible for planning, executing, tracking and managing costs, schedule, and scope on all projects in addition to designing and managing the project and technical processes in the SDLC
  • Significantly contributes to product roadmap planning, scheduling projects for managed teams and coordinating across teams to build a cohesive roadmap schedule
  • Improves, and facilitates all project and software development processes to create agreement and alignment with departmental objectives of productivity, timeliness, and quality. Skills as a facilitator, communicator, and chairperson are crucial
  • Provide and maintain all necessary external communications and status information for the scrum team
  • Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving
  • Improve the engineering practices and tools so each increment of functionality is potentially shippable

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in Lean software development practices preferred 
  • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team
  • Ability to manage multiple project teams simultaneously in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.,) 
  • Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous burn-down techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.,)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to facilitate a team towards achieving a common goal 
  • Has a strong aptitude in influencing without direct authority- A successful candidate will be able to not only engage key stakeholders but also synthesize an argument, negotiate differing viewpoints and drive to consensus
  • Excellent facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to influence change at all levels 
  • Is a self-starter with great attention to detail and follow through and who is resourceful and adept at managing through chaos to reach a goal
  • Enjoys a fast-paced learning environment and has an ability to understand processes end to end
  • Has strong leadership capability, specifically the ability to work directly with all levels of the team, through upper management
  • Drives the adoption of key engineering practices like Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development, etc.,


  • BE in Computer Science or equivalent
  • PMI PMP certification or equivalent 
  • CSM or CSP certified
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in program management or similar discipline with emphasis in software development 
  • Experience in a SaaS and Cloud environment is a strong plus
  • Experience working with VersionOne is a plus
