In India, nearly one-third of the total female population is working hard and dreaming big. There was an old saying, behind every successful man, there is a woman. But, now with the toll of time, it would not be wrong to say that, behind many successful women, it’s their family who supported them morally and companies who tried to make their workplace a better one. Indian companies have shown their consistency and determination in helping working women. Every good thing causes for a celebration. Celebration makes us feel special always. That too when others are celebrating for you. Celebrations in corporate have now become a familiar trend. On women’s day, various events get organized for women; gifts being distributed (as every woman love gifts); recognition given to high achievers.

The HR department already decides a certain budget for women`s day celebration. Within that budget, they arrange the event, making it more exciting for women. They might decorate the workplace of women. Women are expected to be dressed in ethnic wear that day. They generally prefer to clad on sarees, to give the perfect Indian look. There would be some eminent speaker in the auditorium, talking about feminine issues and how to deal with it.

Walk-ins/Recruitment conducted for Women

What could be more appealing than giving them good job opportunities. Many companies conduct special walk-ins on this day only for female candidates. The motto behind this is to increase the talent pool for women. In addition to this, they want to increase the percentage of women in their workforce. There are certain referral drives for especially for women candidates.

They are no doubt a step ahead from men and enjoy certain extra privileges in many regards. They are born to feel special and so as the people make them feel today.

Mandate for Women to be in the Leadership Role

The company has rolled out the mandate that a certain percentage of women have to be there in the top management. You can take the examples of companies like Intel and Cognizant which has a great human resource comprising women in their leadership role.

“A woman is like a tea-bag. You can’t tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water.” This is why now it has been made mandatory for them to be in the leadership roles. Sometimes, they are themselves unaware of their skills and abilities. All they need is a little bit of motivation and then they don`t know what is the limit. Indian companies are empowering women in the supply chain and as entrepreneurs. In fact, women`s role in working communities is bringing peace and security.

Increase in Maternity Leave

As the government himself declared the increase in maternity leave for all the private sector working women. It is seen as New Year gift for all the newborn mothers. In companies like Accenture, you can get 3 months work from home facility, as soon as your pregnancy get detected. Due to this, their male counterparts are even feeling jealous. They will not be getting so much of time to spend with their newborn baby as the women can get.

Indian companies have designed women-friendly policies keeping in view, the safety and security of women. They can have flexible working hours, relaxation from night shifts, they enjoy basic Z-level security. They have better career options to choose within the organization.

If a women is having a newborn with her, then, there are facilities of day-care and nursery in office premises itself. They can opt for flexible working hours every week as per their convenience. When women are not able to work in night shifts. The manager tries to put them in some other shifts. When a cab drops women at home, a male cop use to be there. Someone escorts her till she reaches home. Women can`t travel alone with the driver. There are several such policies designed by Indian companies. This is why; a woman can live safely, work happily and can enjoy her freedom in a whole new world.
